Fall News at Underriner Motors

September... Leaves are changing, nights are cooling down and there is a chill in the air with the first frost just around the corner. 
The car industry loves this time of year to introduce their new 2013 Models. Some, like Volvo jumped the gate and we saw 2013 models in the XC90 back in February, others are holding on and it will be closer to the end of the year, but this year is seeing a turnaround in the economy and a renewed confidence from the Manufacturers. Honda is absolutely powering forward as are Hyundai, with the only thing stopping them growing more being production capacity. 

Design:

Chris Chapman

You might have noticed that Hyundai has been bringing out some incredible looking vehicles lately. This has something to do with a couple of people.  Chris Chapman, Chief designer for Hyundai in America, is a Southern California native, was poached by Hyundai from BMW where he is credited with the design of the X5, X3, Z4 and 1 series models. 

Thomas Bürkle

Another notable influence has been Thomas Bürkle, Hyundai's European Chief Designer, who joined Hyundai from BMW in 2005. The ex BMW senior designer who also spent time designing vehicles at Toyota and Mercedes as well as focusing on multi-media products at VW bringing IT into their cars. . 

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe LWB V6

Here at Underriner Motors, we are fortunate to have these two companies as our franchises, for the future is very bright on both fronts. 
Hyundai:
Hyundai's goal is to be the best loved car company on the Planet! Lofty goals indeed, however, if you have driven a Hyundai recently you will realize they are extremely serious about this goal and are setting the bar for the rest rather than tagging along. 5 new vehicles have been released in 2012 - The Hyundai Veloster Turbo which will be available in an exclusive matte paint finish,, New design Santa Fe, Updated Genesis Coupe, Elantra Coupe and Elantra GT hatchback. A sixth model is set to launch later this year to replace the Veracruz, this will be a long wheelbase 7 passenger Santa Fe with a 290HP 3.3L V6 which is estimated by Hyundai to return 26MPG Hwy, 19MPG City.

Honda:

2013 Honda Accord

Any day now we should see the new 2013 Honda Accords. Although similar in looks, the new Accord is more refined, quieter and full of new technology. It receives the new iCloud HondaLink system that connects with your smartphone for music and media resourses such as Aha by Harman, Internet Apps, Pandora Internet Radio and SMS Text Messaging. It will also connect to Twitter & Facebook! Safety technology options include Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise. In the Navigation models, an 8 inch screen is featured which also connects to a camera underneath the passenger side mirror to give a clearer view of what is at the side of you. It also connects to the rear back-up camera. a 2014 Accord will be available in a two motor plug-in Hybrid model.

2013 Buick Encore

Our other two franchises, Buick and Volvo are also bringing out new models. 

Buick:
Buick has the 2013 Buick Encore launching later this year. Boasting as high as an EPA estimated 33MPG Hwy and 25 City, it is sure to have an impact.The Encore is a CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) like the Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson. With Buick's commitment to an ultra quiet ride and high quality, it will be interesting to see if the Honda CR-V continues to dominate this section of the market.

Volvo:

2013 Volvo V40

Volvo brings a new model, the Volvo V40, a 5 door Hatchback that oozes style and quality.

So, back to September... Yes, it is THE best time of the year to buy! To get the allocations of 2013 models, dealers have to sell their 2012 models which have been flowing into dealerships with great gusto in the last few months! We have the best inventory levels we have seen for years. With the economy turn and then the Tsunami, it has been hard to get enough cars to grow the business. Now, we have the cars available and just have to get the word out.
